Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Norvelen (“the application”) does with your information. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past, so it is short.

Norvelen works with two things:

• The files you select. These are copied from your computer to your Google Drive. They are not sent anywhere else and are not inspected, indexed or analysed.
• A Google authorisation token. After you sign in, Google issues a token that lets the application upload on your behalf. The token is stored locally on your computer in the application's configuration and is never transmitted to us or to any third party.

We do not operate a website account system, a newsletter or a tracking system. This website sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts or fonts.

3. Google user data and the scope we request

Norvelen requests one Google Drive scope: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file.

This scope permits an application to see and manage only the files it has itself created, or that you have expressly opened with it. It does not give access to the rest of your Google Drive, and it gives no access to Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Photos or any other Google service.

4. Limited Use

Norvelen's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically, data obtained through Google APIs is used only to provide the file-synchronisation feature described on this site. It is not transferred to others except as necessary to provide that feature, is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not used for any purpose unrelated to the feature. No human reads this data.

5. Storage and retention

Files you copy with Norvelen are stored in your own Google Drive and are retained for as long as you keep them there. The authorisation token remains on your computer until you remove it or revoke access. Because we hold no copy of either, we have nothing to retain or delete on your behalf.

6. Sharing

We do not share your data with anyone, because we do not receive it. The only party involved besides you is Google, acting as the provider of the Drive storage you have chosen to use.

7. Security

All communication with Google APIs uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Your authorisation token is held only on the computer where the application runs, so its security depends on the security of that computer. Keep it protected and revoke access if the machine is lost or no longer yours.

8. Your choices

You can revoke Norvelen's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Doing so immediately invalidates the token and stops all further uploads. You can also delete any uploaded file directly in Google Drive.

9. Children

Norvelen is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age at which they can lawfully consent to the processing of their data in their country of residence.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page with a new “last updated” date. Material changes affecting how Google user data is handled will be reflected here before they take effect.
